About Judith
Judith combines a rare articulate
sensibility in dance and in writing, specializing in Jewish dance. On this site

Judith
Brin Ingber, choreographer and dancer, lived in Israel from 1972-1977 and worked
with the Batsheva Dance company, was assistant to Sara Levi-Tanai, director of
Inbal Dance Theatre and taught at Bat Dor. She frequently returns to teach, lecture
and research. In Minneapolis, in addition to her performing and writing, she also
guests in the Department of Theater Arts and Dance at the University of Minnesota.
IN 1986 Judith co-founded the performing arts group Voices of Sepharad with vocalist David Harris. The group has enjoyed wonderful successes performing throughout the US, Canada and some European cities. Judith has performed on television, in union theaters, at community centers, universities, colleges and schools and also reated residencies with the Voices of Sepharad musicians. Some of the venues have included New York City's Danspace Project, Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, the New World School of the Arts in Miami, Gindi Auditorium in Los Angeles and the internationally renowned Jewish Theater in Warsaw. Judith's solo shows have been seen at the Daila Center in Jerusalem, in Philadelphia, San Raphael, Chicago and at her alma mater Sarah Lawrence College. She also performed in Meredith Monk's "Juice" at the Guggenheim and in Sally Rousse's rendering of "Petrushka" for the James Sewell Ballet.
Brin Ingber's original
dance teachers were de Basil Ballet Russe dancers Lorand and Anna
Andahazy who settled in Minneapolis. Judith graduated from Sarah
Lawrence College in dance where she was a student of Bessie Schönberg.
In New York she studied with Margy Jenkins and at the Merce Cunningham
studio, continued her ballet training with Bonnie Mathis and today takes
company class with the James Sewell Ballet, Alexander Technique with
Elizabeth Garren, Pilates (she began under the renowned Carola Trier in
New York), and yoga (especially with Kevin Kortan).
