"These Things I Remember"
"These Things I
Remember" is a dance with five scenes beginning with the Spanish
Inquisition of 1492, then Morocco in the 1700s, Turkey in the 1800s,
Salonica in 1943 and today.
By the third scene, we understand
precious possessions have been passed from generation to generation
and locale to locale, each used in various ways by the different women.
A joyful street scene takes place as a wedding procession passes down
a Turkish street, featuring the bride under the wedding canopy with
the groom.
